Rainbow trout

Rainbow trout is the most common species in Swedish put-and-take waters. It copes with ponds and lakes across the country and is fished with spin, fly and bait when the method is allowed.

In these waters rainbow trout is stocked fish, not a wild stock you “find”. The club or operator stocks, sells the card and sets the quota. General tactics — the bank, small spinners, a nymph — are not unique to one pond, and we do not pretend they are.

The list below is only published waters where we have evidence for rainbow trout. Buy the card from the seller before you cast.
