NovaScottia Eventcenter

NovaScottia Eventcenter is put and take at Gottåsa in Alvesta municipality, Småland. Two ponds in an old quarry. Rainbow trout is the main species, together with brown trout and salmon. Fishing is booked as a party via Facebook, email or phone — not as a loose day permit on iFiske. We do not sell the permits.

Species

Planted salmonids are what you fish here. This page is NovaScottia Eventcenter at Gottåsa in Alvesta, not Nova Events in Dala-Järna and not other event centres with a similar name.

Two ponds: a larger and a smaller. Typical of planted salmonids in deep quarry ponds: they can sit along the edges after stocking and then deeper.

Fly fishing, spin fishing and bait fishing

Here we filter on fly fishing. Read current gear with the seller before you pack. Not every pond allows everything.

This water is booked as a group, not as an open day permit for passers-by. Minimum party size, times and how you take fish home belong to the site and they change. Check Facebook the same day you plan to go.

Lures and flies

For planted rainbow trout and brown trout a nymph or simple streamer in olive, black and orange is enough to start. The tips are general for the species and therefore not specific to NovaScottia Eventcenter.

Change colour and depth if it is dead for a while. After a stocking the fish can take near the surface. In a deeper quarry they may later want a slower presentation further down.

When they bite

Stocking and opening are decided by the site. Morning and evening are often nicer than high sun in small ponds. Spring and autumn are often pleasant on this kind of water.

An empty report online says nothing about today. Ask them before you book.

Getting there

Address: Gottåsa Lisetorp 1, Grimslöv, Alvesta municipality. The map pin sits on the site’s own point at the two ponds, not on the village Gottåsa. Drive toward Grimslöv, not toward other Nova sites.

Park where they direct. Take your rubbish home. Keep distance to houses. The map on this site is a pin, not a parking map.

Rules

Always check the current rules with the permit seller. The booking covers the party. Price, how much fish is stocked, quota and opening hours belong to the site and they change. Current prices are on the permit seller’s page.
