Ekdala Ström

Ekdala Ström is Camp Mayfly’s put and take in Kristianstad municipality, a kilometre outside Huaröd. The site stocks rainbow trout in a stream in the Vramsån system and in two ponds. Brown trout is present and should according to the source be released. Individual fishing on open days is bought digitally. We do not sell the permits.

Species

Planted salmonids are the product. This page is Ekdala Ström, not Bondemölla, not Norrefors and not Ulvereds hjorthägn.

The stream is described as smaller forest water. The ponds are part of the same camp.

Rainbow trout is what you book for, while brown trout should be put back. Here you fish both running water and still ponds, which needs slightly different tactics: in the stream the fish sit behind stones and in slower pockets, in the pond they circulate along the edges. The base is fly fishing, with spin in the ponds when the whole camp is hired by a group. Open days are booked as sessions, not rolling days.

When they bite

Getting there

The map pin sits at Camp Mayfly – Ekdala. Nyvångsvägen at Huaröd, about 25 km south of Kristianstad according to the operator. Do not drive toward Ulvered in Halland.

The address Nyvångsvägen 148–59 is named by the operator. Huaröd is the nearest town. Kristianstad municipality, not Hörby where Bondemölla sits.

Brown trout in the stream should be released. Rainbow trout is what you book for. Kept fish can have a kilo fee — that is a separate iFiske product, not the fishing permit.

Camp Mayfly also hires out the whole site to groups. Then the open sessions are closed. Read the booking list the day you mean to go.
