Abborragölen

Abborragölen is one of Hökensås Sportfiske’s put-and-take lakes in Hökensås nature reserve, Tidaholm municipality. Here they stock rainbow trout, often together with brown trout. The pond is a blue, quota fly water. This pond sits on Hökensås, not Abborregölen in Norrköping. The permit is not the same as the Tiveden or Baltak permits.

Species

Rainbow trout is the main species. Hökensås stocks salmonids in named lakes, so-called put and take. This page is about Abborragölen, not the other lakes on the ridge.

Rainbow trout in a forest lake can take along the edges and over deeper water. After stocking they may pack tight for a short time. Walk the last stretch carefully.

Fly fishing, spin fishing and bait fishing

Blue lake: only fly fishing, with quota places booked in advance. Spin fishing and bait fishing are not included. The blue permit covers the booked lake plus red and yellow waters the same day. Ice fishing is forbidden on the blue lakes.

The reserve has its own rules: camping is forbidden in the area, fires only at marked barbecue sites. Cars only on marked roads.

The permit is sold digitally and in machines at the fishing centre. Buy it before you fish.

Lures and flies

Small spoons and spinners in silver, white or orange are a common start where spinning is allowed. On fly: nymph, pupa and a simple streamer. The tips are general for rainbow trout in a lake.

Fish a bay or bank properly before you move on.

When they bite

Morning and evening are often best. In summer the fish may go deeper in the middle of the day. Stocking is decided by Hökensås. Ice fishing has its own season on yellow and red lakes, not on the blue ones.

Always check the current rules with the permit seller. The permit is personal. Quota, boat hire and season belong to Hökensås and they change.
