Brunnsjön

Brunnsjön is put and take in Umeå municipality, at Djäkneböle. Djäkneböle SFF stocks rainbow trout. The seller notes a stocking on 2026-05-27 and marks the area as put and take. A special day permit for Brunnsjön, separate from the brook. We do not sell the permits.

Species

Planted rainbow trout is the put-and-take reason. The association also writes about bream and roach with catch and release in the same lake. This page is Brunnsjön, not Djäknebölesån and not Djäknasjön in Karlsborg.

The lake is about ten hectares according to the association. Humus-stained water, bog banks and boardwalks.

Rainbow trout is the main species, stocked at catchable size. In the stained water light and high-contrast baits often show better, and the fish like to sit along the edges after a stocking. Bream and roach in the lake must be released — rainbow trout is the catch fish.

Fly fishing, spin fishing and bait fishing

Hand tackle. Fly fishing, spin fishing, bait fishing and ice jigging as long as the permit does not say otherwise. A float tube has its own permit. Outboards are banned. A road barrier sits about two kilometres before the lake — count on walking.

When they bite

Stocking is decided by the association. The latest date on the seller’s page is a stocking, not a promise of the next one. Check an open permit.

This far north the water is cool and the season shorter, so morning and evening and the weeks after a stocking usually give most. In winter ice jigging can apply when the association opens ice fishing.

Getting there

The map pin sits at Brunnsjön. Djäkneböle, about 17 kilometres from Umeå according to the association. Parking and a barbecue site are marked on the map. Not other Brunnsjön.

An accessible jetty at Timmerladan according to the map. Boardwalks on wet ground. Take your rubbish home. Fires only in prepared rings.

The barrier road means extra time. Count on the last stretch on foot if the barrier is closed. In winter ice and ice jigging can apply when the association opens ice fishing — check the permit, not this page.

Rules

Always check the current rules with the permit seller. The Brunnsjön permit is not the brook permit. Quota and float tube are with the seller. Current prices are on the permit seller’s page. Stick to the quota and kill quickly the rainbow trout you keep; bream and roach are released.
