Jomarkstjärn is put and take in Jomark, about five kilometres from Robertsfors. The municipality counts the tarn among the municipality’s salmonid waters and states rainbow trout as the stock. Permits are bought on site at signed permit sales and information boards. Fishing is allowed all year except a period in June when stocking happens.
Species
Rainbow trout is the main species. The municipality overview mentions brown trout and rainbow trout for the put-and-take lakes as a group, but for Jomarkstjärn specifically rainbow trout is listed. Count on stocked fish, not a wild brown trout stock you should hunt in a stream.
Rainbow trout in a forest tarn often go along edges, jetties and in the lee. When it is cold they can take high. After warm days they can sit deeper, beyond the casting jetty you first stopped at.
Fly fishing, spin fishing and bait fishing
The municipality describes casting jetties, not a method list. Fly fishing and spin fishing are the methods we filter on here. Bait fishing is not documented on the municipality page — read the boards at the tarn before you bait a hook.
An accessible jetty is according to the municipality on site, plus several casting jetties. You can fish from firm ground without wading. A barbecue cabin, two wind shelters and an accessible toilet are also mentioned.
Lures and flies
Small spinners and spoons in silver, white or orange are a common start for lake rainbow trout. On fly: a nymph along the bank, a streamer if you see hunting. Change depth before you change colour. The tips are general for the species.
Fish a jetty properly. After stocking the fish can sit tight for a short time; then it is better to stay than to run around the tarn.
When they bite
Early morning and late evening are often best, especially in spring and autumn. June can be closed for stocking according to the municipality — do not go then without checking the board or the association. Ice and winter fishing follow local rules, not this page.
Getting there
Take Gumbodavägen from Robertsfors, about five kilometres. The municipality states that it is signed at Jomark through to permit sales and information boards at the tarn. The map pin is the named tarn.
The permit is sold on site. This page’s button goes to the municipality fishing overview, which explains how you find it and that the rules are on the boards. The association Jomarkstjärns fiskeförening is mentioned by the municipality; read what is at the water the day you fish.
Rules
Always check the current rules with the permit seller and on the boards at the tarn. Prices, quota and the exact June closure belong there, not here. The lake is marked as family-friendly with an accessible jetty, accessible toilet, barbecue cabin and casting jetties near the information. That does not replace watching children by deep, cold water.
