Torrhedstjärn

Torrhedstjärn is put and take in Gävle municipality. Hamrånge FVOF stocks rainbow trout. You buy a special permit for this water — an area permit for surrounding lakes is not enough. The area permit for Hamrångefjärden and the other lakes does not apply in the tarn.

Species

The main species is planted rainbow trout. Hamrånge FVOF’s only put-and-take water with planted rainbow trout. It is the stocked salmonids you fish here, not pike in a wild water.

Rainbow trout in a closed-off lake often sit close to the bank after stocking and then spread toward deeper parts.

Fly fishing, spin fishing and bait fishing

The methods we filter on are fly fishing, spin fishing, bait fishing. One rod, including ice fishing according to the association. Outboard motors are often banned on this kind of water — follow the seller, not a forum.

Lures and flies

Small spoons and spinners in silver, white or orange are a common start where spinning is allowed. On fly: nymph, pupa and a simple streamer. Scented baits can be banned — that is on the seller’s page. The tips are general for fishing stocked salmonids.

When they bite

Stocked salmonids are liveliest in cool water and just after a fill. Dawn and dusk often beat high sun. When the association last stocked, you read with the permit seller.

Getting there

A tarn in Hamrånge, Gävle municipality, toward Bergby. Fishing from the bank and ice. A boat does not belong to the put-and-take row. The map pin points at the named water, not the village. Park where it is signed.

Rules

Always check the current rules with the permit seller. The permit is personal. Quota, season and what applies for children change. Bring the confirmation digitally or printed.
