Björnetjärnet

Björnetjärnet is put and take in Eda municipality, the westernmost of Yxesjöarnas FVOF’s three salmonid waters. The association stocks rainbow trout and brown trout. It is a small forest tarn in Järnskogs socken, not Yxesjöarna to the east. An ordinary area permit and the Eda kretskort are not enough — you buy the salmonid-water permit with the seller.

Species

The main species is stocked rainbow trout. Brown trout is also planted in the three salmonid waters. The association counts the tarn as put and take. Perch may occur, but it is the salmonids you fish here.

Small surface: the fish often sit within casting range from the bank after stocking.

Fly fishing, spin fishing and bait fishing

The methods we filter on are fly fishing, spin fishing and bait fishing. Read the current tackle rules with the permit seller. Kuvetjärnet and Södra Svartningstjärnet in the same association sit to the east — this pin is the western tarn.

Lures and flies

Short casts toward the bank. Small spoons and spinners in silver, white or orange are a common start against stocked rainbow trout. On fly: nymph, pupa and a simple streamer. Scented baits may be banned — that is on the seller’s page. The tips are general for this kind of fishing.

When they bite

A small tarn warms fast. Early morning and late evening often beat midday in still sun. After a stocking it can take tightly for a while. When the latest stocking was is on the permit seller’s page.

Getting there

Järnskogs socken, Eda municipality, west of Koppom toward the forest. The map pin points at Björnetjärnet, not at Koppom and not at Mjögesjöarna. Park where it is marked. The last stretch can be a forest road; do not drive into the ditch.

Rules

Always check the current rules with the permit seller. The permit is personal. Quota, season and the rules for children change; free youth fishing in the area does not cover the salmonid fishing. Bring the confirmation digitally or printed.
