Spraggtjärn

Spraggtjärn is put and take in Torsby municipality, Värmland. Norra Ny FVOF at Stöllet has two put-and-take waters for rainbow trout, adapted for disability. Spraggtjärn has its own P&T permit. Rainbow trout is the main species. We do not sell the permits — buy Spraggtjärn P&T via the permit seller.

Species

Planted salmonid is what is fished here: rainbow trout. This page is Spraggtjärn in Torsby, not Spraktjärn in Munkfors, not Spraggtjärn in Sysslebäck and not Korvsjön which has its own P&T permit.

iFiske sells the product Spraggtjärn P&T. The association calls the water put and take with planted salmonids. Typical of this type of water: the fish can sit close to the bank after stocking and then seek deeper.

The same name can exist in other municipalities. The coordinate on the map is this point, not another water with the same name. County: Värmlands län.

Fly fishing, spin fishing and bait fishing

Lures and flies

For planted rainbow trout, small spinners, spoons and simple nymphs in olive, black and orange often work. On fly a nymph or a simple streamer is a start. The tips are general for the species and therefore not specific to Spraggtjärn.

Change colour and depth if it is dead for a while. After stocking the fish can take near the surface. Later they often want a slower presentation.

When they bite

Stocking is decided by the manager. Morning and evening are often nicer than high sun in small forest waters. Spring and autumn are often mentioned as pleasant periods on this type of water.

Check an open permit and ice with the seller before you go. An empty report online says nothing about today.

Getting there

The map pin sits at Spraggtjärn west of Stöllet in Torsby municipality. Not Spraggtjärn at Sysslebäck and not Korvsjön at Klarälvens Camping. The family permit for natural waters does not apply in this tarn. Park where it is signed. Fires only where it is prepared unless there is a fire ban.

Take rubbish home. Keep distance to homes and pasture. The map on this site is a pin, not a parking map.

Always check the current rules with the permit seller. Quota, times, bag limit and booking change. Current prices are on the permit seller’s page. The lake is marked as family-friendly with an accessible jetty or adapted fishing spot. That does not replace supervision by cold water.
