Abborrtjärn

Abborrtjärn is put and take in Ljusdal municipality, Färila FVOF’s third P&T water together with Skålsjön and Rävsvenstjärn. The association stocks rainbow trout. The tarn sits at Enskogen and Laforsen, not at Färila town. The same P&T permit covers the three waters. The Ljusnan permit does not apply in the tarn.

Species

Rainbow trout is the main species. This page is about Abborrtjärn in Färila, not Abborrtjärn in Undersvik and not Abborrtjärn in Malingsbo.

Rainbow trout in a forest lake often goes along edges and casting jetties. After stocking they can pack tight. Later they spread.

Fly fishing, spin fishing and bait fishing

At Skålsjön, Rävsvenstjärn and Abborrtjärn the association describes lean-tos, barbecues, casting jetties and a toilet. Fly fishing and spin fishing are the methods we filter on. Bait fishing is not evidenced on the put-and-take pages. Boats are forbidden on the put-and-take waters. A float tube is allowed in Abborrtjärn for a special fee, not automatically in the other two.

One permit covers the three waters the same day. The max number of permits per person is on the association’s page.

Lures and flies

Small spoons and spinners in silver, white or orange are a common start. On fly: a nymph along the edge, a streamer if you see hunting. The tips are general for rainbow trout in a lake.

Fish a jetty properly. Leave the boat at home.

When they bite

Morning and evening are often best. Premiere days can have other conditions. Stocking is decided by the association, not by a calendar here.

Getting there

The map pin sits at Abborrtjärnen at Enskogen and Laforsen in Ljusdal municipality. Drive toward Laforsen, not toward Färila centre and not toward Skålsjön closer to town. The association has camping at the tarn.

The Buy permit button goes to the association’s page about Swish, plusgiro and agents. State name, date and that it is put and take, or the payment does not count.

Rules

Always check the current rules with the permit seller. The permit is personal. Quota, premiere conditions and ice belong to the association and they change. Children under fifteen fish, according to the association, on a guardian’s put-and-take permit, with a shared quota.

The lake is marked as family-friendly with casting jetties, lean-to, barbecue, toilet and a clear child rule. Accessible fishing according to the association applies to Skålsjön and Rävsvenstjärn, not automatically here. It is still a lake with deeper water.

Give way if someone is already on the jetty. Take your litter with you.

Park so that emergency vehicles and other visitors can get through. Follow signs at the water, not only the map pin.
