Andtjärn

Andtjärn is put and take in Ljusnarsberg municipality. The municipality and Ljusnarsbergs FVO stock rainbow trout regularly. Its own day permit, not the permit for the other waters. Not Gåstjärn a few kilometres east and not Malingsbo-Kloten.

Species

Rainbow trout is the main species. The association calls Andtjärn and Gåstjärn put-and-take waters. This page is about Andtjärnen in Ljusnarsberg, not other Andtjärn.

Rainbow trout in a forest tarn can take along the edges. After stocking they can pack tight. Walk the last stretch carefully.

Rainbow trout is the main species, stocked regularly by the association. In a forest tarn you reach the fish from the bank, and they often cruise the edges after a stocking. Fishing is with hand tackle — one rod — while other tackle is forbidden. Rainbow takes lures, bait and fly.

The permit is sold via the association’s page, Swish marked Andtjärn, or an agent. Buy it before you fish. Gåstjärn has its own number — do not mix them up.

Lures and flies

Small spoons and spinners in silver, white or orange are a common start. On fly: nymph, pupa and streamer. The tips are general for rainbow trout in a lake.

When they bite

Morning and evening are often best. Stocking is decided by the association. Check season and ice with the permit seller.

Stocked rainbow trout are liveliest in cool water and just after a stocking, and they usually take best at dawn and dusk. In strong summer sun they can go slack and seek depth in the middle of the day.
