Norrefors

Norrefors is Camp Mayfly’s put-and-take site north of Karlshamn, on Mieån. The organiser stocks rainbow trout in the stream. Brown trout exists and should according to the source be released carefully. Fishing is based on fly fishing. Individual permits are sold digitally on certain open days. Other time the camp is hired by a party.

Species

The main species is planted rainbow trout in Mieån and in two ponds. Brown trout should be released. This is not the glassworks Norrefors in Kalmar County — this page is Karlshamn municipality.

Rainbow trout in clear running water is often visible. In the ponds they can sit tight after a stocking.

Fly fishing is the base. Spin fishing in the ponds is mentioned when the whole camp is hired. Bait fishing is not documented. Individual fishing is booked via iFiske as morning, afternoon or day permit, with different times in summer and winter.

Lodging on site is sold as its own product. It does not replace the fishing permit.

Lures and flies

Small nymphs and pupae are a common start in the stream. In a pond: nymph and a simple streamer. The tips are general.

Bring barbless hooks if the seller requires it. Read the terms the day you book.

When they bite

Valid clock times stand on the permit, not as a rolling day. Summer and the rest of the season have different times. Stocking and open days are decided by the organiser.

In running water, cool overcast days and dawn or dusk are often best. Check the session times and that the day is not booked as an event.

Getting there

The map pin is the village Norrefors in Karlshamn municipality, about fifteen kilometres north of Karlshamn. Do not drive toward Norrefors in Nybro.

On iFiske: choose a Norrefors permit, not the kilo fee for kept fish, until you know what you keep.

Rules

Always check the current rules with the permit seller. The permit is personal. What may be kept, kilo fee and when the camp is hired belong to the organiser and they change.
