Mellansjön

Mellansjön is Sportfiskarna’s put-and-take lake at Malma on Värmdö, Värmdö municipality. Rainbow trout is stocked here regularly. Arctic char can be stocked ahead of ice fishing. Fly fishing is documented. One rod per person. Your own boats are banned; hire boats are booked digitally. The permit is sold only via iFiske.

Species

The main species is planted rainbow trout. Sportfiskarna calls the lake put and take. Arctic char is mentioned for ice. This page is Mellansjön on Värmdö, not other Mellansjön lakes in Sweden.

Rainbow trout take both from the bank and from a hired boat. After a stocking they can sit tight. Walk quietly the last stretch toward the shore.

Fly fishing, spin fishing and bait fishing

One rod. Fly fishing is expressly allowed. Spin fishing fits under the one-rod rule. Bait fishing is not documented on Sportfiskarna’s page. Your own boats and a motor on a hire boat are banned.

The permit is sold digitally. Buy it before you fish. Boat hire is booked with the same seller.

Lures and flies

Small spoons and spinners in silver, white or orange are a common start. On fly: nymph and streamer. The tips are general for rainbow trout in a lake. Fish a bank spot properly. Leave the echo sounder at home if the seller bans it — read the rules.

When they bite

Sportfiskarna mentions spring and autumn as often better when the water is cooler. Extra stocking can happen ahead of ice. Premiere dates you read with the seller.

Getting there

The map pin is Mellansjön at Malma Kvarn on Värmdö, according to Sportfiskarna’s map. Drive Värmdöleden toward Stavsnäs, turn off toward Malma. Parking after the hill at the lake. Summer buses toward Malma kvarn.

On iFiske: choose Mellansjön Värmdö, not other archipelago permits.

Rules

Always check the current rules with the permit seller. The permit is personal. Quota, boat hire and season belong to Sportfiskarna and they change.

Give space if someone is already on the jetty or boardwalk. Take your rubbish home. Park so rescue and other guests can get through. Follow signs at the water, not only the map pin.
