Skribotjärn

Skribotjärn is put and take in Filipstad municipality. Sportfiskeklubben Filip stocks rainbow trout and Arctic char. The largest lake in the club’s lease. Not Potten and not Gammelhyttsjön, where stocking is not allowed. We do not sell the permits — buy via the permit seller.

Species

Planted salmonid is what is fished here. This page is Skribotjärn north of Filipstad, not other tarns with similar names.

The club stocks both rainbow trout and Arctic char. There is also an older Arctic-char stock according to the association. Typical of this type of water: the fish can sit close to the bank after stocking and then deeper.

With rainbow trout and Arctic char you fish two salmonids with different habits: rainbow trout boldest and highest, Arctic char more cautious and often deeper, especially in heat. With an accessible jetty it is comfortable fishing also for families; see more family-friendly waters. Besides the planted fish there is an older Arctic-char stock according to the association.

Permits are bought digitally or from agents in Filipstad. A QR code is mentioned at the notice board.

Lures and flies

For planted rainbow trout, small spinners, spoons and simple nymphs often work. Arctic char often want a slower presentation deeper. General species tactics and therefore not specific to Skribotjärn.

Change colour and depth if it is dead for a while.

When they bite

Stocking is decided by the club. Morning and evening are often nicer than high sun. Spring and autumn are often mentioned as pleasant periods on this type of water.

Cool water and a refill just now usually give the best takes; Arctic char is more sensitive to heat and often sits deeper than rainbow trout.

Getting there

West side: road 246 toward Nordmark, signed Skribotjärn. East side from Persberg via Mörkhult. Parking at the lake and at the clubhouse according to the club’s map. Not Potten to the south.

An accessible jetty is mentioned. Park where it is signed. Fires only where it is prepared unless there is a fire ban. The map is a pin, not a parking map.
