Klövtjärn

Klövtjärn is put and take in Ovanåker municipality. Alfta FVOF stocks brown trout and rainbow trout during the summer half of the year. The association calls the water P&T. A special 12-hour permit. We do not sell the permits — buy via the permit seller.

Species

Stocked salmonids are what you fish here. Perch occur. This page is Klövtjärn, Stora Klövtjärnen, not Lilla Klövtjärnen next to it and not Klövtjärn in Medelpad.

The association writes that the tarn lies off the beaten track. Stocking in summer. Seasonal closure is announced on the club page.

Fly fishing, spin fishing and bait fishing

Here: fly fishing, spin fishing and bait fishing from the bank, jetties and wind shelters. No boat according to the club. One rod at a time on the P&T permits.

Small spinners and a nymph toward stocked brown trout and rainbow trout. The tips are general.

When they bite

Stocking is decided by the association. Opening in 2026 was announced for May. Winter closure has occurred — check the club page, not this page.

Getting there

The map pin sits at Stora Klövtjärnen in Ovanåker municipality. Not Lilla Klövtjärnen a few hundred metres away. Park where it is signed.

Alfta numbers Klövtjärn as water 1 on its map. That is the northern part of the area, not Bornasen at the built-up area.

Take your rubbish home. Buy the permit in time if you buy digitally. The club has closed the tarn in winter and opened it again for summer. It is seasonal operation, not a 24-hour timetable. Count on a forest road for the last stretch.

Always check the current rules with the permit seller. Quota and opening hours change. Current prices are on the permit seller’s page. Buy the permit before you cast. Whether fish may be taken home is with the seller and can change.
