Björnsjön

Björnsjön is one of Hökensås Sportfiske’s put-and-take lakes in Hökensås nature reserve, Tidaholm municipality. Rainbow trout is stocked here, often together with brown trout. The lake is a yellow lake with fly fishing, spin fishing and bait fishing. Hökensås mentions jetties that can be reached by wheelchair. The permit is not the same as the Tiveden or Baltak permits.

Species

Rainbow trout is the main species. Hökensås stocks salmonids in named lakes, so-called put and take. This page is Björnsjön, not the other lakes on the ridge.

Rainbow trout in a forest lake can take along the edges and over deeper parts. After a stocking they can sit tight for a short time. Walk the last stretch quietly.

Fly fishing, spin fishing and bait fishing

Yellow lake: fly fishing, spin fishing and bait fishing are allowed. One rod. Groundbaiting and live fish as bait are banned. Your own boats, canoes and rafts may not be used. The same yellow permit opens the other yellow lakes. A red permit also opens yellow waters.

The reserve has its own rules: camping is banned in the area, fires only at marked barbecue sites. Cars only on marked roads.

The permit is sold digitally and in machines at Fiskecentret. Buy it before you fish.

Lures and flies

Small spoons and spinners in silver, white or orange are a common start where spinning is allowed. On fly: nymph, pupa and a simple streamer. The tips are general for rainbow trout in a lake.

Fish a bay or bank properly before you change.

When they bite

Morning and evening are often best. In summer the fish can go deeper in the middle of the day. Stocking is decided by Hökensås. Ice fishing has its own season on yellow and red lakes, not on the blue ones.

Rules

Always check the current rules with the permit seller. The permit is personal. Quota, boat hire and season belong to Hökensås and they change.

The lake is marked as family-friendly with facilities at the water. It is still a lake with deeper parts.
