Vitavatten

For planted rainbow trout, small spinners, spoons and simple nymphs in olive, black and orange often work. On fly a nymph or a simple streamer is enough as a start. The tips are general for the species and therefore not specific to Vitavatten.

Change colour and depth if it is dead for a while. After stocking the fish can take near the surface. Later they often want a slower retrieve.

When they bite

Stocking is decided by the manager. Morning and evening are often nicer than high sun in small forest waters. Spring and autumn are often mentioned as pleasant periods on this kind of water.

Check an open permit and ice with the seller before you go. An empty report online says nothing about today.

Getting there

The map pin sits at lake Vitavatten closest to Brokamåla Gård at Nytebodavägen, not the other Vitavatten at Rösjö and not Harasjömåla’s ponds. Park where it is signed. Fires only at prepared sites unless there is a fire ban.
