Norsjötjärn

Norsjötjärn is put and take in Åsele municipality. Noretbyarnas FVO stocks salmonids in two tarns. Södra Lappland describes brown-trout fishing in Norsjötjärnen. The same special permit as Skavtjärn. We do not sell the permits — buy via the permit seller.

Species

Planted brown trout and rainbow trout are the reason. This page is Norsjötjärnen on the map, not the other Norsjötjärnen in Åsele municipality further north and not Skavtjärn.

The FVO writes that a special permit is required in the two tarns.

Fly fishing, spin fishing and bait fishing

Hand tackle. Fly fishing, spin fishing and bait fishing as long as the permit does not say otherwise. Children under sixteen only with an adult who has bought a permit, on that adult’s quota.

Lures and flies

Nymph and small spinners. The tips are general for planted brown trout and rainbow trout and therefore not specific to Norsjötjärn.

When they bite

Stocking is decided by the FVO. Check an open permit before you go.

Getting there

The map pin sits at Norsjötjärnen south of Åsele. That is this lake, not Norsjötjärnen further north in the same municipality. Park where it is signed.

Same FVO as Skavtjärn, same special permit, another tarn. Södra Lappland highlights brown trout here and rainbow trout more at Skavtjärn. Both species can occur.

Three lakes are called Norsjötjärnen in the municipality. The map pin is the southern Norsjötjärnen.

Bring barbless hooks if the seller requires it. Read the terms on the permit you buy.

Rules

Always check the current rules with the permit seller. The special tarn permit, not only the FVO day permit for the river. Quota sits with the seller.

Buy the permit before you cast. Quota and whether fish may be taken home sit with the seller and can change.
