Strandgölen

Strandgölen is one of Hökensås Sportfiske’s put-and-take lakes in Hökensås nature reserve, Habo municipality. Rainbow trout is stocked here, often together with brown trout. The tarn is a blue, quota fly water. Spots are booked in advance. The permit is not the same as the Tiveden or Baltak permits.

Species

Rainbow trout is the main species. Hökensås stocks salmonids in named lakes, so-called put and take. This page is Strandgölen, not the other lakes on the ridge.

Rainbow trout in a forest lake can take both along the edges and over deeper stretches. After a stocking they can sit tight for a short time. Walk the last stretch to the bank quietly.

Fly fishing, spin fishing and bait fishing

Blue lake: fly fishing only, with quota spots booked in advance. Spin fishing and bait fishing are not included. The blue permit covers the booked lake plus red and yellow waters the same day. Ice fishing is banned on the blue lakes.

The reserve has its own rules: camping is banned in the area, fires only at marked barbecue sites. Cars only on marked roads.

The permit is sold digitally and in machines at Fiskecentret. Buy it before you fish.

Lures and flies

On fly: nymph, pupa and a simple streamer. The tips are general for rainbow trout in a lake. Leave the spinning rod in the car.

Fish a bay or bank properly before you change.

When they bite

Morning and evening are often best. In summer the fish can go deeper in the middle of the day. Stocking is decided by Hökensås. Ice fishing has its own season on yellow and red lakes, not on the blue ones.
