Stor-Krampen

Stor-Krampen is Sveaskog’s largest put-and-take lake in the Krampen area, Skinnskatteberg municipality. Rainbow trout is stocked here. The lake is a red water: fly fishing, spin fishing and bait fishing are allowed. The same permit covers Lill-Krampen, Hällsjön, Holmsjön and the fly tarn Bredtjärn. The Malingsbo-Kloten salmonid permit does not apply in these lakes.

Species

Rainbow trout is the main species. Stocking is during the ice-free season according to Sveaskog. Other species in the natural waters around Krampen belong to other permits.

Rainbow trout in a larger forest lake can spread out. A float tube is allowed in Stor-Krampen. Bank anglers have priority.

Fly fishing, spin fishing and bait fishing

Red water: fly, spin and bait fishing. One rod. Powerbait and similar PVC baits are banned according to the rules. Winter fishing is allowed in the red waters. Toilets and bins in the area are for permit holders.

The permit activates with a delay after purchase. Buy it in time.

Lures and flies

Small spoons and spinners in silver, white or orange are a common start. On fly: nymph and streamer. The tips are general for rainbow trout in a lake.

Fish a bay properly. Give space if someone is standing on the bank.

When they bite

Morning and evening are often best in open water. Ice fishing has its own season in the red lakes. Stocking is decided by Sveaskog, not by a calendar here.

Getting there

The map pin is the named lake Stor-Krampen at Kramptorp, Skinnskatteberg municipality. Do not drive toward Stora Krampen in Lindesberg, which is another lake.

With the seller: choose Dagkort Krampen Röda och Rosa vatten. A family permit exists.

Rules

Always check the current rules with the permit seller. The permit is personal. Quota, float tube and camping fee belong to Sveaskog and they change. Children up to fifteen fish according to the seller free in company with an adult who has a permit, on the adult’s quota.

The lake is marked as family-friendly with toilets, bins, a family permit and a clear child rule. It is still forest lakes with deeper stretches.
