Djupgöl

Djupgöl is put and take at Kosta in Lessebo municipality. Kosta Lodge stocks rainbow trout and sells permits at the lodge, at Jaktia in Kosta or via Swish according to the fishing page. Not fly only — fishing from the bank and from a boat. Not Vitgöl and not the children’s ponds. We do not sell the permits.

Species

Stocked salmonids are what you fish here. This page is the named tarn Djupgöl, not Stampen and Läen where it is pike, zander and perch.

The lodge states a weight range for the fish in Djupgöl. Typical of stocked rainbow trout in a forest tarn: they can sit along the edges after release and then deeper.

Always check that it is open and how the permit is bought the day you go. Wind shelters and barbecue sites at the lakes are mentioned by the lodge, but they do not replace a valid permit.

Lures and flies

For stocked rainbow trout, small spinners, spoons and simple nymphs in olive, black and orange often work. The tips are general for the species and therefore not specific to Djupgöl.

Change colour and depth if it is dead for a while. From a boat you reach deeper edges you cannot reach from a single bank.

When they bite

Stocking and season are decided by the lodge. Morning and evening are often nicer than high sun in small forest waters. Wind over a tarn can make presentation hard in the middle of the day. Check that it is open before you go.

Getting there

Djupgöl sits at Kosta in Lessebo municipality, north of Vitgöl. The map pin sits on the named tarn’s middle. Follow signs toward the lodge and on toward the water; park where the seller marks.

Permits are bought according to the lodge at Kosta Lodge, at Jaktia Kosta or via Swish with a message according to the fishing page. Online purchase is mentioned as coming — use the method that stands there the day you fish. Not a parking map, only a pin.

Rules

Always check the current rules with the permit seller. Prices, how many fish are included and what separates a bank permit from a boat permit belong to the lodge and they change. Current prices are on the permit seller’s page. Fishing in Djupgöl is not the same as fly fishing in Vitgöl or family fishing in the ponds.
