Rainbow trout is the main species, stocked at catchable size. This far north the water is cool and the season shorter, which often gives lively, willing fish in the ice-free part of the year. They take lures, bait and fly, and like to sit along the edges after a stocking. In winter ice jigging can apply when the ice bears — follow the seller’s season.

Stocked fish can sit close to the bank after a planting and then deeper. That is general for this kind of water.

When they bite

Stocking is decided by the manager, not by a bite calendar we mirror. Morning and evening are often nicer than high sun on small forest waters. Check an open permit, ice and the latest stocking with the seller before you go.

This far north, morning and evening and the weeks after a stocking usually give most, while high-summer heat can make the fish slow. In winter ice decides.

Getting there

Boden municipality, west of the coast toward the Råneå side according to the pin. A single lake marker. Park where it is marked, not on private lots. Fires only at prepared sites unless there is a fire ban.
