Ondtjärn

Ondtjärn is put and take in Bollnäs municipality, in Hanebo-Segersta FVF. The association calls the tarn P&T with planted salmonids. Its own permit toward rainbow trout, not the area’s other waters. Not Abborrtjärn and not Bergtjärn. We do not sell the permits.

Species

Planted salmonids are what you fish here. This page is Ondtjärn in Hanebo, not Bergviken with pike and not Ljusnan in the same FVO.

Children up to fourteen fish free in the area — except in Ondtjärn, where they fish on an adult’s quota according to the association. Typical of planted rainbow trout in a forest tarn: they can take close to the bank after stocking.

Rainbow trout is the main species; in a small forest tarn like Ondtjärn you in practice reach the whole water from the bank.

Fly fishing, spin fishing and bait fishing

Here: fly fishing, spin fishing and bait fishing as long as the P&T permit does not say otherwise. Choose the permit that covers Ondtjärn, not only Bergviken.

Wind shelter and a jetty are mentioned at the tarn. That is facilities, not a promise of a catch.

Lures and flies

Small spinners and a nymph toward planted rainbow trout. A slow retrieve and a change of depth usually show where the fish sit; bright patterns in stained water, muted in clear. General species tactics and therefore not specific to Ondtjärn.

When they bite

Stocking is decided by the association. Check which permit covers P&T the same day you go.

Cool water, overcast and dawn or dusk usually give the best takes on planted rainbow trout, while strong sun in the middle of the day can push them down.

The map pin sits at Ondtjärnen in Bollnäs municipality, Hanebo. Not Abborrtjärn further north in the same municipality.
