Timmervatten is put and take in Kungälv municipality, in Svartedalen nature reserve north of Göteborg. Sportfiskarna stock rainbow trout in selected lakes. The folder lists Timmervatten among the waters where salmonids are stocked. One shared Svartedalen permit applies. We do not sell the permits — buy via the permit seller.

Species

Planted rainbow trout is the reason. Pike and perch occur naturally. Not Översjön nearby, and not Timmervatten as a place name without a lake.

Klarevatten and Övre Långevatten are on the same permit but the folder does not list rainbow trout there. Those pages are not published as PAT.

Rainbow trout is the PAT species here, stocked in selected lakes in the reserve. Pike and perch occur naturally but are not why you buy the salmonid permit. Because only fly and spin are allowed in Timmervatten you fish without bait fishing, from the bank. Rainbow trout take lures and fly and often sit along the edges after a stocking. In a nature reserve the reserve rules sit on top of the permit, so stay on the path.

Fly fishing, spin fishing and bait fishing

Spin and fly according to the folder. One rod, one hook according to Sportfiskarna. Fly fishing is included. Other methods only if the folder allows them in Timmervatten itself.

Children up to and including 16 fish free with an adult who has a permit, on that adult’s quota.

Lures and flies

Nymph, streamer and small spinners are a common start toward planted rainbow trout. The tips are general and therefore not specific to Timmervatten.

When they bite

Stocking is decided by Sportfiskarna. Casting hours for the season are with the seller (summer and winter have different clock times). Check an open permit.

The folder is dated; rules may have changed. Read the current permit.

Planted rainbow trout are liveliest in cool water and just after a fill, and usually take best at dawn and dusk. In strong midday sun they often seek depth. Casting hours differ between summer and winter according to the seller, so check the clock times before you go.

Getting there

The map pin sits at Timmervatten in Kungälv municipality. Park where it is signed, often Grandalen. Nature reserve — stay on the path.

Not Översjön nearby, and not Timmervatten as a place name without a lake.

The Svartedalen permit covers eight waters. Only lakes where the folder lists planted rainbow trout get a PAT page. Grandalen is mentioned as an information board and QR. The nature reserve’s rules apply on top of the fishing permit.

Rules

Always check the current rules with the permit seller. Quota, hours and fly zones change. Current prices are on the permit seller’s page.
