Stora Transåssjön is Kråkereds fiskevårdsområde’s put-and-take water in Borås municipality. Rainbow trout is stocked here. Fly fishing, spin fishing and bait fishing are allowed. Borås stad stocks rainbow trout during the season. The municipal fishing permit does not apply here. Its own day permit. Season according to the city, ice-free.
Species
Stocked salmonids are what you fish here. This page is Stora Transåssjön, not Lilla Transåssjön and not the other lakes in Kråkereds FVO where another permit applies.
Rainbow trout and other stocked salmonids can take close to the bank after stocking and then sit deeper. Typical of that kind of water.
Fly fishing, spin fishing and bait fishing
Fly, spin and bait fishing. One rod. Fishing from the bank or a hired boat. Your own boat is not allowed. A float tube is not mentioned by the city as allowed here.
The permit is sold digitally as a day permit for Stora Transåssjön. The other Kråkered lakes have another, cheaper permit without rainbow trout.
Lures and flies
Small spoons and spinners in silver, white or orange are a common start where spin is allowed. On fly: nymph, pupa and streamer. The tips are general for fishing after stocked salmonids.
Fish one spot properly.
When they bite
Morning and evening are often best. In warmer water the fish often seek deeper in the middle of the day. Stocking is decided by whoever manages the water. Check season and ice with the permit seller.
Getting there
The map pin is the named lake Stora Transåssjön at Kråkered, Borås, north of the village. Not Pickesjön to the west.

Rules
Always check the current rules with the permit seller. The permit is personal. Quota and season belong to the seller and they change.
Give space if someone is already on the jetty or boardwalk. Take your rubbish home. If the lake is closed for stocking, it shows on the seller’s page. Park so rescue and other guests can get through. Follow signs at the water, not only the map pin.
