Stora Stockasjön

Stora Stockasjön is put and take in Mark municipality, at Öxabäck. The operator stocks rainbow trout often according to its own page. Fly fishing and spin fishing. Not Lilla Stockasjön next door, where only fly applies. We do not sell the permits — book ahead via the operator’s form.

Species

Rainbow trout is the main species. This page is Stora Stockasjön at Furåsen, Öxabäck, not Öxasjön and not Iglatjärn in the same forest.

The operator writes that they stock often. It is periodic operation with booked spots, not drop-in. Typical of stocked rainbow trout: they can sit close to the bank after stocking and then deeper.

Because fly and spin are allowed, but not bait fishing or baited hooks, you fish actively with a single hook on the fly. Spots are booked in advance, not drop-in, so it is rarely crowded. You may fish from bank, jetty or wade.

For stocked rainbow trout, small spinners, spoons and simple nymphs often work. General species tactics and therefore not specific to Stora Stockasjön.

When they bite

Stocking is decided by the operator. Morning and evening are often nicer than high sun. Spots are limited — check that your booking is confirmed before you go.

Stocked rainbow trout are liveliest in cool water and just after a refill, and usually bite best at dawn and dusk.

Getting there

The map pin sits at Stora Stockasjön, Furåsen 2, Öxabäck. Not Lilla Stockasjön a few hundred metres away. The address is the operator’s, not a parking map.

Overnight stays at the lakes are not allowed according to the page. Bring ID. Take your rubbish home.
