Skepphusviken

Skepphusviken is Mora-Våmhus FVOF’s put-and-take bay at Mora Parken in Mora municipality. The association stocks rainbow trout. Only a special day permit marked Skepphusvik applies here. Ordinary tourist permits for Siljan and Orsasjön do not apply in the bay. Permits are bought digitally and at Mora Parken Hotell.

Species

Rainbow trout is the main species. The association stocked at the end of May 2026. Gravtjärn is another put-and-take water in the same association, with its own opening date. This page is Skepphusviken.

Rainbow trout in a small bay near town can be used to people. After a stocking they can sit tight. Later they spread toward deeper water.

Rainbow trout is the main species, in a bay near town. Because only fly and spin are allowed, and boat motors are not, you fish from the bank or paddle out. The fish can be used to people and become shyer a while after stocking, so a discreet presentation helps. Only the special day permit for Skepphusvik applies – Siljan permits do not apply in the bay.

Fly fishing, spin fishing and bait fishing

The association allows one hand rod. Fly fishing and spin fishing are the methods we filter on. Bait fishing is not documented on the put-and-take line. Boat motors are banned.

Children under eighteen fish free in the association’s other waters. That does not apply to put-and-take. Here you need your own day permit.

Lures and flies

Small spoons and spinners in silver, white or orange are a common start. On fly: nymph and a simple streamer. The tips are general for rainbow trout in a bay.

Fish the bank toward the hotel properly. Leave the Siljan permit at home.

When they bite

Morning and evening are often best. Stocking is decided by the association. The day permit’s validity you read with the seller.

Planted rainbow trout are liveliest in cool water and just after a refill, and usually bite best at dawn and dusk. In a well-visited bay, early morning is often both quietest and richest.

Getting there

The map pin is the named bay Skepphusviken, at Mora. Drive toward Mora Parken, not toward other bays in Siljan.

On the seller’s page: choose Dygnskort Skepphusvik. Siljan permits do not apply in this bay.

Rules

Always check the current rules with the permit seller. The permit is personal. Quota and the child rule for put-and-take belong to the association and they change.
