Yasjön

Yasjön is put and take in Halmstad municipality, Halland. Yasjöns FVOF stocks rainbow trout every year and calls the lake put and take. About 32 hectares, shallow, a boat is preferred according to the association. Rainbow trout is the main species. We do not sell the permits — buy via the permit seller.

Species

Stocked salmonids are what you fish here: rainbow trout. This page is Yasjön in Halmstad, not the small Yasjön at Sävsered and not Yasjön in Hylte/Nejsjön FVOF.

The association writes that they have released rainbow trout for many years. Pike, perch and roach occur naturally and are not the main subject here. Typical of this kind of water: the fish can sit close to the bank after stocking and then move deeper.

Lures and flies

For planted rainbow trout, small spinners, spoons and simple nymphs in olive, black and orange often work. On fly a nymph or a simple streamer is enough as a start. The tips are general for the species and therefore not specific to Yasjön.

Change colour and depth if it is dead for a while. After stocking the fish can take near the surface. Later they often want a slower retrieve.

When they bite

Stocking is decided by the manager. Morning and evening are often nicer than high sun in small forest waters. Spring and autumn are often mentioned as pleasant periods on this kind of water.

Check an open permit and ice with the seller before you go. An empty report online says nothing about today.

Getting there

The map pin sits at lake Yasjön in Halmstad municipality, the larger lake at Grenalt/Simlångsdalen. Not the pin at Sävsered. A boat place via a forest track entrance Grenalt according to the association. Park where it is signed. Fires only at prepared sites unless there is a fire ban.

Take your rubbish home. Keep distance to houses and pasture. The map on this site is a pin, not a parking map.
