Gäddegölen

Gäddegölen is put and take in Eksjö municipality, at Brokabo. That is why it is sometimes called Brokabogölen. Eksjö fiskeklubb stocks rainbow trout. Fly fishing only. Not Abborragölen, even though the same salmonid permit covers both. We do not sell the permits — buy via the permit seller.

Species

Stocked salmonids are what you fish here. This page is Gäddegölen, not the club’s other lakes with pike and perch and not Solgen at Åsa fiskegård.

Continuous stocking of rainbow trout according to the club and Visit Eksjö. Typical of stocked rainbow trout in a tarn: they can sit along the edges after release and then deeper. Pack a fly rod, not a spinning reel — that is the difference from Abborragölen.

Fly fishing, spin fishing and bait fishing

Here: fly only. Spin fishing and bait fishing are not included. Natural bait such as worm and shrimp is not allowed according to the municipality. Free youth fishing in the club’s other waters does not cover the salmonid fishing.

Parking and barbecue sites with benches are mentioned. They do not replace a valid permit. Read current tackle with the seller before you pack.

Lures and flies

For tarn rainbow trout, small nymphs, pupae and damsels in olive, black and orange often work, plus a simple streamer if you see hunting. General fly tactics for the species, not a report from a single day at Brokabo.

Bring extra leaders. Forest vegetation and a backcast into trees are more common problems than the wrong pattern.

When they bite

Stocking is decided by the manager. Morning and evening are often nicer than high sun in small forest waters. Wind over a tarn can make presentation hard in the middle of the day. Check an open permit with the seller before you go.

Getting there

Gäddegölen sits at Brokabo in Eksjö municipality, separate from Abborragölen. The map pin sits on the named tarn’s middle. Park where it is marked. Fires only at prepared sites unless there is a fire ban.

The salmonid permit is bought digitally, at a machine at Abborragölen or at Frendo in Eksjö according to the municipality. With the seller: choose the salmonid day permit, not the ordinary sport-fishing permit.
