Stora Kroksjön

Stora Kroksjön is put and take in Ale municipality, north of Kollanda. Abborresjöns FVF stocks rainbow trout. Fly fishing and spin fishing. Not Stora Kroksjön in Olofström and not Stora Kroksjön in Karlshamn. We do not sell the permits.

Species

Rainbow trout is the main species. This page is Stora Kroksjön in Ale, not Harasjömåla and not Långasjönäs. Resident brown trout should according to the club be released. Arctic char exists as a small stock, not as the main species.

The club writes stocking during the season. Typical of stocked lake rainbow trout: they can take along slabs of rock after stocking and then deeper.

Rainbow trout is the catch fish. The lake sits in a nature reserve, so the reserve rules apply on top of the fishing permit. With only fly and spin, and without a float tube, you fish from the bank along the rock.

Fly fishing, spin fishing and bait fishing

Fly and traditional spin. Bombarda is not allowed according to the club. Bait fishing belongs to Ottersjön. A float tube is not allowed here. The lake sits in a nature reserve — it is the reserve’s rules that apply. Read current tackle with the seller before you pack.

Small spinners and nymph against stocked rainbow trout. General species tactics and therefore not specific to Stora Kroksjön.

When they bite

Stocking is decided by the association. The season is time-limited. Check an open permit with the seller before you go.

Stocked rainbow trout go best in cool water and just after a refill; dawn and dusk usually win in summer, while strong midday sun can push them toward depth.
