Lillvrången

Lillvrången is put and take in Ockelbo municipality, Gästrikland. Planted rainbow trout with a special salmonid permit. Rainbow trout is the main species. We do not sell the permits — buy via the permit seller.

Species

Stocked salmonids are what you fish here: rainbow trout. This page is Lillvrången in Ockelbo, not Storvrången (Arctic char, another permit).

Lures and flies

For stocked rainbow trout, small spinners, spoons and simple nymphs in olive, black and orange often work. On fly, a nymph or a simple streamer is enough to start. The tips are general for the species, not specific to Lillvrången.

Change colour and depth if it is dead for a while. After a stocking they can take near the surface; later they often want a slower presentation.

When they bite

Stocking is decided by the manager. Morning and evening are often nicer than high sun on a small forest water. Spring and autumn are often pleasant. Check an open permit and ice with the seller before you go.

Getting there
