Gömmaren

Gömmaren is put and take in Huddinge municipality. Långsjö-Gömmarens fiskevårdsförening stocks rainbow trout, brown trout and Arctic char. You buy a special permit for this water — an area permit for the surrounding lakes is not enough. The sport-fishing permit and other Huddinge lakes on the municipality’s list are other waters.

Species

The main species is stocked rainbow trout. Rainbow trout and brown trout are stocked for summer fishing, Arctic char for winter. It is the stocked salmonids you fish here, not pike in a wild water.

Rainbow trout in a confined lake often stay close to the bank after stocking and then spread into deeper water.

Fly fishing, spin fishing and bait fishing

The methods we filter on are fly fishing, spin fishing and bait fishing. The association mentions fly, spinning reel and bait. Scented baits such as Powerbait are banned. An outboard is often banned on this type of water — follow the seller, not a forum.

Lures and flies

Small spoons and spinners in silver, white or orange are a common start where spinning is allowed. On fly: nymph, pupa and a simple streamer. Scented baits may be banned — that is on the seller’s page. The tips are general for fishing stocked salmonids.

When they bite

Stocked salmonids are liveliest in cool water and just after a stocking. Dawn and dusk often beat high sun. Winter fishing for Arctic char is decided by ice and the association’s stocking.

Getting there

The lake sits in Gömmarens naturreservat. Address toward Gömmarvägen 58. A float tube is mentioned; dinghy and motorboat do not belong here. The map pin points at the named water, not at the town. Park where it is marked.

Rules

Always check the current rules with the permit seller. The permit is personal. Quota, season and the rules for children change. Bring the confirmation digitally or printed.
