Lilla Öjasjön

Lilla Öjasjön is one of Hökensås Sportfiske’s put-and-take lakes in Hökensås nature reserve, Tidaholm municipality. Rainbow trout is stocked here, often together with brown trout. The lake is a yellow lake: fly fishing, spin fishing and bait fishing. Hökensås mentions a boardwalk at the parking. The permit is not the same as the Tiveden or Baltak permits.

Species

Rainbow trout is the main species. Hökensås stocks salmonids in named lakes — put and take. This page is Lilla Öjasjön, not the other lakes on the ridge.

Rainbow trout in a forest lake can take along the edges and over deeper water. After a stocking they can sit tight for a short time. Walk quietly the last stretch.

Fly fishing, spin fishing and bait fishing

Yellow lake: fly fishing, spin fishing and bait fishing are allowed. One rod. Groundbaiting and live fish as bait are banned. Your own boats, canoes and rafts may not be used. The same yellow permit opens the other yellow lakes. A red permit opens yellow waters as well.

The reserve has its own rules: camping is banned in the area, fires only on designated barbecue sites. Cars only on marked roads. Permits are sold digitally and in machines at Fiskecentret. Buy before you fish.

Lures and flies

Small spoons and spinners in silver, white or orange are a common start where spin is allowed. On fly: nymph, pupa and a simple streamer. The tips are general for rainbow trout in a lake. Fish a bay or an edge properly before you move.

When they bite

Morning and evening are often best. In summer the fish can go deeper in the middle of the day. Stocking is decided by Hökensås. Ice fishing has its own season in yellow and red lakes, not in the blue ones.

Rules

Always check the current rules with the permit seller. The permit is personal. Quota, boat hire and season belong to Hökensås and they change.

The lake is marked as family-friendly with facilities at the water. It is still a lake with deeper parts.
