Hultsby

Hultsby is a put-and-take site at Rockneby in Kalmar municipality, with four ponds. Rainbow trout is stocked. The site is hired as a full day by a party, not as an open day permit for passers-by. Booking and contact person are on the site’s website. Open certain months, not all year.

Species

Rainbow trout is the main species. The farm puts fish in when the party arrives. It is not Kalmar’s other ponds or Snärjebäcken.

Rainbow trout in small ponds often sit tight after stocking. Later they can become shy.

Four ponds. Because the farm stocks when the party arrives there is rarely crowding — the site is hired as a full day, not an open day permit. In small ponds you reach the whole water from the bank and the fish circulate along the edges. Fly fishing, spin fishing and bait fishing

Fly fishing and spin fishing are the methods we filter on. Bait fishing is not documented on the site. On the grounds there is according to Naturkartan a large wind shelter with barbecue, a fishing cabin with kitchenette and a toilet in a separate building.

The gate opens in the morning. Fishing ends at dusk according to the site.

Lures and flies

Small spoons and spinners in silver, white or orange are a common start. On fly: nymph and a simple streamer. The tips are general for rainbow trout in a pond.

When they bite

Best time according to the site is spring and autumn. The summer months are not mentioned as open. Exact months and hours you read with them before you book.

Stocked rainbow trout are liveliest in cool water, and the site highlights spring and autumn as the best time. The gate opens in the morning and fishing ends at dusk.
