Svarttjärn

Svarttjärn is put and take in Gagnef municipality, west of lake Gimmen. Gimmens FVOF stocks salmonids continuously. The Gimmen permit sold digitally does not apply here. Permits are bought with agents in advance. We do not sell the permits.

Species

Planted rainbow trout is the P&T reason. This page is Svarttjärnen west of Gimmen, the lake in Gagnef municipality closest to Gimmen, not other Svarttjärnen in the same municipality and not Lissjön with catch and release.

A boarded path, lean-tos and barbecue sites. An accessible fishing place with parking according to the association. School groups can be booked via the contact person.

Rainbow trout is willing to take year-round, and because ice fishing is allowed you can reach it through the ice in winter when ice is safe.

Fly fishing, spin fishing and bait fishing

Here: fly fishing, spin fishing, bait fishing and ice fishing as long as the permit does not say otherwise. Bank only. Catch and release of caught fish is not allowed according to the association. One rod. Children up to 12 on an adult’s permit if the child fishes actively.

Lures and flies

Small spinners and nymph against stocked rainbow trout. Through the ice on ice fishing it takes small jigs and mormyshkas with bait. Because catch and release is not allowed here you count on keeping and killing the fish you hook — fish accordingly. The tips are general.

When they bite

Stocking is decided by the FVOF. Winter premiere is announced on the site. Check the agents’ opening hours — permits are not sold at the tarn.

In summer morning and evening usually give more than high sun; in winter ice decides everything. Buy the permit with an agent in advance.

Getting there

The map pin sits at Svarttjärnen west of Gimmen. Gimmen lies largely in Borlänge municipality, the tarn in Gagnef. Not Lässen in Mockfjärd.
