Långtjärn

Långtjärn is put and take in Sollefteå municipality. Långvattnets FVO (Junsele) stocks rainbow trout. Southernmost in the Junsele four. Not Harmånger and not Vännäs. We do not sell the permits — buy via the permit seller.

Species

Stocked salmonids are what you fish here. This page is Långtjärn, not other waters in the same area that can have pike or perch as the main number. Rainbow trout with yearly planting. Not Långvattnet to the north, which is another name on the map.

Rainbow trout is the main species, with yearly planting according to the association. It is stocked at a catchable size and takes lure, bait and fly, and often sits along the banks after a stocking. The same permit applies to the other three Junsele waters. This far north the water is cool and the season shorter.

Stocked fish can sit close to the bank after planting and then deeper. Typical of this kind of water.

Lures and flies

For stocked rainbow trout small spinners, spoons and simple nymphs in olive, black and orange often work when the water is coloured. A streamer when the fish are hunting. General species tactics, not a recipe we claim is unique to Långtjärn.

When they bite

Stocking is decided by the manager. Morning and evening are often nicer than high sun in small forest waters. Check an open permit, ice and the latest stocking with the seller before you go.

This far north morning and evening and the weeks after a stocking usually give most, while high-summer heat can make the fish slow and deep-seeking.

Getting there

South of Blåtjärn. Sollefteå municipality, Junsele. Park where it is signed, not on private land. Fires only where it is prepared unless there is a fire ban.
