Härnen

Härnen is put and take in Sandviken municipality. Sandvikens SFK stocks rainbow trout and brown trout. The most accessible of the club’s lakes. Not Kroksjön and Stora Mörtsjön, which are natural lakes without a P&T pin. We do not sell the permits — buy via the permit seller.

Species

Stocked salmonids are what you fish here. This page is Härnen, not other waters in the same area that may have pike as the main number.

With rainbow trout and brown trout, a large jetty with a railing and an allowed float tube, Härnen suits both the beginner on the jetty and anyone who wants to reach deeper lanes — see more family-friendly waters.

Stocked fish can sit close to the bank after stocking and then deeper. Typical of this kind of water.

Lures and flies

For stocked rainbow trout, small spinners, spoons and simple nymphs in olive, black and orange often work. Brown trout rewards a more discreet presentation and thinner tippet than rainbow trout, and in winter both take ice bait fishing with small jigs. The tips are general for the species and therefore not specific to Härnen.

When they bite

Stocking is decided by the manager. Morning and evening are often nicer than high sun on small forest waters. Check an open permit and ice with the seller before you go.

Because ice bait fishing is allowed the lake works year round; in winter ice conditions decide. Cool water, morning and evening generally give most on stocked salmonids. Patterns for the species.

Getting there

Just outside Järbo at Kungsberget. The map pin sits at Härnen. Park where it is marked. Fires only on prepared sites unless there is a fire ban. Take your rubbish home. The map is a pin, not a parking map.

Rules

Always check the current rules with the permit seller. Quota, times and float tube change. Current prices are on the permit seller’s page. The same day permit covers Långsjön; stick to the quota and kill quickly the salmonids you keep.
