Östra Slogtjärn

Östra Slogtjärn is put and take in Ludvika municipality. Säfsnäs fiskevårdsförening stocks rainbow trout. Sibling to Västra Slogtjärn, same fly rule in open-water season. We do not sell the permits — buy via the permit seller.

Stocked salmonids are what you fish for here. This page is Östra Slogtjärn, not other waters in the same area that may have pike or perch as the main number.

Stocked fish can sit close to the bank after a planting and then deeper. That is general for this kind of water.

Fly fishing, spin fishing and bait fishing

Here: fly fishing. Not spin from the bank in the open-water season according to the association’s Slogtjärn rule. Same as the western tarn: fly in summer. Pack to the seller’s current gear rules, not to a forum.

Lures and flies

Summer: nymph, streamer and dry fly. General fly tactics for pond rainbow trout, and therefore not specific to Östra Slogtjärn. Leave the spinning rod in the car while that rule holds.

When they bite

Stocking is decided by the manager, not by a bite calendar we mirror. Morning and evening are often nicer than high sun on small forest waters. Check an open permit, ice and the latest stocking with the seller before you go.

Getting there

A few hundred metres east of Västra Slogtjärn. Map name Ö Slogtjärnen. Park where it is marked, not on private lots. Fires only at prepared sites unless there is a fire ban. The map pin is the water, not a parking map. Säfsnäs, Fredriksberg, Ludvika.
