Långtjärn

Långtjärn at Tväråbäck is put and take in Vännäs municipality. Jämteböle Stärkesmark Tväråns FVO stocks rainbow trout every spring. Its own day permit, not the permit for the lakes or Tvärån. Not Långtjärn with SFK Glada Laxarna and not Hamptjärn.

Species

Rainbow trout is the main species. The association calls the tarn put-and-take water. This page is Långtjärnen south of Tväråbäck, not Glada Laxarna’s Långtjärn further southwest.

Rainbow trout in a small forest tarn can take along the bank and at the jetty. After a stocking it can sit tight. Walk the last stretch quietly.

Fly fishing, spin fishing and bait fishing

Allowed here: fly fishing, spin fishing and bait fishing as long as the permit does not say otherwise. Barbecue cabin, toilet and an accessible jetty are mentioned by the association.

The permit is sold digitally marked Långtjärn. Buy it before you fish. The lakes’ day permit and the Tvärån permit do not apply in the tarn.

Lures and flies

Small spoons and spinners in silver, white or orange are a common start. On fly: nymph, pupa and streamer. The tips are general for rainbow trout in lakes.

Fish the jetty properly before you change.

When they bite

Morning and evening are often best. Premiere after spring stocking you read with the seller. The association stocks in spring.

Getting there

The map pin sits at the named Långtjärnen south of Tväråbäck, Vännäs municipality. Signed from the southern entrance to Tväråbäck at E12. Not Glada Laxarna’s Långtjärn and not Tvärån two hundred metres away.

The Buy permit button goes to Jämteböle Stärkesmark Tväråns FVO. Choose Långtjärn, not the lakes.

Rules

Always check the current rules with the permit seller. The permit is personal. Quota, premiere and what applies on ice belong to the association and they change. The fishing-right owner permit does not apply here in high summer according to the seller.

The lake is marked as family-friendly with an accessible jetty, barbecue cabin and toilet. The tarn is still a small forest water with depth.

Give space if someone is already at the jetty. Take your rubbish home. Park so rescue and other guests can get through. Follow signs at the water, not only the map pin.
