Abborragölen

Abborragölen in Bottnaryd is put and take in Jönköping municipality, in the same ridge area as Mörtesjön. Bottnaryds byalag stocks rainbow trout. It is not Abborragölen on Hökensås in Tidaholm and not Abborregölen in Norrköping.

Species

Stocked rainbow trout is why you buy the permit. Perch and whitefish may be there, but they are not the put-and-take product. A C-permit for Gårdsjön and Västersjön is another fishery.

The pond is small. Count on the fish seeing you, and on short, quiet presentations lasting longer than long casts across the whole surface.

Fly fishing, spin fishing and bait fishing

The village association allows any hand tackle here, one rod per person: fly fishing, spin fishing and bait fishing unless the seller says otherwise. An accessible jetty is mentioned. Park where it is marked.

Lures and flies

Small spinners, a spoon and a nymph under the surface are common tactics toward pond rainbow. That is general for the species, not a tip that only applies in Bottnaryd. Bait and tackle the association bans are on the seller’s page.

The map pin is Abborragölen at Bottnaryd, a few hundred metres from Mörtesjön. Approach toward Mörtsjöåsen. The permit is via iFiske, and according to the association also at Tempo in Bottnaryd.

Rules

Always check the current rules with the permit seller. Quota and the one-rod rule are theirs, not ours. Free fishing for children does not apply in the rainbow waters, according to iFiske.

Here you fish for rainbow trout. The tips are general for the species: edges, a change of depth, small baits. Fly, spin and bait are the methods named by the seller. Bring other tackle only if it is allowed.
