Käringasjön

Käringasjön is put and take in Sävsjö municipality. Sävsjö SFK stocks rainbow trout and brown trout. Vrigstad parish, not Käringasjön in Vaggeryd. Its own map pin and many jetties. We do not sell the permits — buy via the permit seller.

Species

Lures and flies

For stocked rainbow trout, small spinners, spoons and simple nymphs in olive, black and orange often work. Brown trout rewards a more discreet presentation and thinner tippet, while rainbow trout take more aggressively — try the jetties around the lake and change depth until you find the fish. The tips are general for the species and therefore not specific to Käringasjön.

When they bite

Stocking is decided by the manager. Morning and evening are often nicer than high sun on small forest waters. Check an open permit and ice with the seller before you go.

Cool water and early morning or evening usually give most, especially on brown trout which is more sensitive to heat than rainbow trout.

Getting there

Vrigstad in Sävsjö municipality. The map pin shows Käringasjön, not the club’s area centre. Park where it is marked. Fires only on prepared sites unless there is a fire ban. Take your rubbish home. The map is a pin, not a parking map.

Rules
