Kattöggeltjärn is Norsjö sportfiskeklubb’s put-and-take tarn at Bjurträsk in Norsjö municipality. The club stocks rainbow trout. Permits are bought digitally, marked for this tarn. Övre Bjärnstavatjärn at Hemmingen is another water with its own day permit.
Species
Rainbow trout is the main species. The club stocks the tarn on its own calendar with a closure before premiere. Perch and other species are not the reason for the put-and-take permit.
Rainbow trout in a small forest tarn often sit along the banks. After a stocking they can sit tight. Later they spread toward deeper holes.
Fly fishing, spin fishing and bait fishing
The club allows fishing from the bank only. Boats and float tubes are banned. Fly fishing and spin fishing are the methods we filter on. Bait fishing is not documented on the overview page. Park at the gravel pit or at Bävergården according to the club.
The tarn is closed every autumn and for a period in June before the summer premiere. Season permits do not apply on premiere weekends. Check with the permit seller before you go.
Lures and flies
Small spoons and spinners in silver, white or orange are a common start. On fly: a nymph along the bank, a simple streamer. The tips are general for rainbow trout in tarns.
Leave the float tube at home. Fish a bank properly before you change place.
When they bite
Morning and evening are often best when the tarn is open. Premiere weekends and closures belong to the club and they move. Ice fishing occurs after the winter premiere — check dates with the seller.
Getting there
The map pin is the named tarn Kattöggeltjärn at Bjurträsk in Norsjö municipality. Do not drive toward Övre Bjärnstavatjärn at Hemmingen.
On iFiske: choose Dygnskort Kattöggeltjärn, not the permit for the other tarn. The club’s fly-fishing waters have their own permits.
Rules
Always check the current rules with the permit seller. The permit is personal. Quota, premiere price and when a season permit applies belong to the club and they change.
