Sallerupsdammarna

Sallerupsdammarna are SFK Spinnaren’s put-and-take ponds in Malmö municipality, on Särslövsvägen east of the city. The ponds are owned by Malmö stad. The club stocks rainbow trout. Permits are bought on site at the hut. When the hut is staffed you pay by card, cash or Swish. Otherwise Swish according to the club’s page. Fishing may not start before the permit is bought.

Species

You fish here for stocked rainbow trout. The club also mentions roach, perch and carp in the water, but fishing may only be aimed at rainbow trout. Grass carp may not be caught.

Rainbow trout in small open ponds often sit near the bank and the jetty after stocking. When many people fish from the same side they can move out toward deeper water in damm 1, which the club describes as the deeper of the two.

Fly fishing, spin fishing and bait fishing

There are two ponds. Damm 1 sits nearest the car park: there spin fishing and fly fishing are allowed. In damm 2 only fly fishing with a fly rod is allowed. Bait fishing is forbidden. Floats, casting bubbles and similar weights are not part of ordinary fishing here.

One rod at a time. The rod may not be put down after the cast. Sportfiskarna membership cards are not valid at Sallerupsdammarna. There are barbecue spots, terraces and a toilet at the site. Damm 1 has an adapted jetty.

Lures and flies

Small spoons and spinners in silver, white or orange are a common start where spin is allowed. On fly: nymph, pupa and a simple streamer. The tips are general for pond rainbow trout.

Fish one bank properly before you change. In damm 2 one fly on a single hook is enough.

When they bite

Morning and late afternoon are often best. Stocking and opening hours are decided by the club. They sometimes close for work around the ponds. Check current hours with the permit seller before you go.

Getting there

The address is Särslövsvägen 38, Malmö. The map pin sits at the ponds east of the road, not in central Malmö. Park at the site so other guests and emergency vehicles can get through.

Rules

Always check the current rules with the permit seller. The permit must be bought before fishing and carried with you. Prices, quota and how Swish is labelled belong to the club and they change. When the quota is filled, fishing is over for that day.

Show consideration at the jetty and the terrace. Take your rubbish with you. Follow the signs at the water, not only the map pin.
