Abborresjöns sportfiske
Abborresjöns sportfiske sits in Risveden, north of Älvängen, with a club hut at Ranneberg in Kollanda. Four named lakes: three in Ale and Ottersjön over the municipal boundary in Lerum, Västergötland. The main species is stocked rainbow trout.
You buy one day permit for all four, not one permit per lake. The permit is valid 24 hours. The tackle differs: Böljesjön is fly only, Ottersjön is the family lake, Abborresjön takes a float tube with an add-on, Stora Kroksjön is bank fishing in a nature reserve.
Four lakes, three kinds of fishing
The same day permit. Read the sign at the water.
- Abborresjön – fly and traditional spin. A float tube with swim fins on an add-on permit, not on 1 May. No pontoon, no boat. Resident brown trout is protected.
- Stora Kroksjön – fly and traditional spin from the bank. No float tube. A small stock of Arctic char. All brown trout go back. The reserve rules sit on top of the fishing permit. Not the Kroksjö lakes at Harasjömåla.
- Ottersjön – family lake. Fly, spin, bombarda and bait fishing with bait. A plastic bubble is allowed. No powerbait, no live baitfish. Jetty and toilet by the road.
- Böljesjön – only fly fishing: fly rod, fly line, leader and fly. A stretch south of the other three.
Bombarda and plastic bubble belong on Ottersjön. On Abborresjön and Stora Kroksjön it is traditional spin: rod, line and lure. A dropper fly in front of the lure is allowed there.
The permit
The permit is personal. Show it and identification to a warden. One rod. At most three salmonids. When the bag is full the permit is used up; then you buy a new one. Children under eighteen fish on an adult’s permit and bag.
Wading is allowed. Fire only in a prepared hearth, and not at all when a fire ban is in force.
Season 1 May–31 October. Closed 1 November to 1 May at 08.00. A season permit is sold at iFiske. Price sits there and with the club.
A float tube on Abborresjön is an add-on permit, only if you already have a valid fishing permit in the iFiske app. The float-tube angler gives way to anyone fishing from the bank.
Practical
Drive toward Kollanda and Ranneberg. Take the club map – Abborresjön and Stora Kroksjön sit close, Ottersjön to the east, Böljesjön to the south. Park so rescue can get through. Take your rubbish with you.
The club hut is the hub, not a cabin village. Shelters are named at several lakes.
Another area with colour-coded lakes and its own fly water is Lögdö Wild.
