Rundstenstjärn

Rundstenstjärn is put and take in Härjedalen municipality, near Vemhån. Hån-Vemdalens FVOF stocks brown trout and Arctic char. Its own P&T permit. We do not sell the permits — buy via the permit seller.

Species

Brown trout and Arctic char are the main species. This page is Rundstenstjärn, not Storvåndtjärn in the same district.

Typical of small forest tarns: the fish can sit along the edge after a stocking.

With brown trout and Arctic char you fish two salmonids that like the cold, clear mountain-near water. Arctic char often sits deeper and cooler than brown trout, especially in heat. Because boats and float tubes are not allowed, all fishing is from the bank, so think about how far you can reach with the cast.

Here: fly fishing, spin fishing, bait fishing and ice jigging with one rod. Boats and float tubes are not allowed here according to the association.

The association mentions parking, a wind shelter and a fireplace. A winter road to parking and a shorter stretch on a snowmobile trail according to them. Temporary closures occur — read the seller.

Lures and flies

Small spinners, spoons and nymphs are a common start. General species tactics and therefore not specific to Rundstenstjärn.

When they bite

Stocking is decided by the manager. Check an open permit, especially around autumn and ice premiere.

This high up the season is shorter and the water cooler, so early summer and chilly days often beat high summer. Morning and evening usually beat best, and in winter ice jigging takes over when the ice bears.

Getting there

The map pin follows the association’s GPS near Vemhån. Short distance from the village according to the association. Park where it is marked.

On the seller’s page: choose the day permit for Rundstenstjärn. The ordinary area permit for Veman is not enough here.
