Lögdö Wild

Lögdö Wild sits in forest north of Sundsvall, between Timrå and Sundsvall in Medelpad. SCA Skog leases a large tract of woodland. Put and take sits in named tarns in Ljustorp and Liden. The rest of the lakes, among them Stor-Skälsjön, belong to the permit for other lakes.

You do not buy one permit for the whole of Lögdö. Put and take and the other lakes are two purchases. On P&T you pick the lake at checkout. The permit is valid for that lake and that date, not 24 hours, not the neighbouring lake the same day.

The main species in the stocked tarns is rainbow trout. Brown trout and Arctic char count toward the bag when kept. Fish under 25 centimetres must be unhooked and put back.

Put and take and the other lakes

Lögdö has no shared permit for everything. You choose a part:

• Put and take – seven named waters. A Put and take day permit, or a season permit for P&T. Vialampitjärn is a fly lake.
• Other lakes – their own permit. This includes trolling and pike in Stor-Skälsjön. Those waters have no pages here.

A float tube on P&T is a third purchase: the float-tube permit. It is enough as a fishing permit on the days a float tube is allowed. You do not buy the day permit as well.

The permit and the tackle

The permit is personal. One rod, and the rod must be within reach. If you go up to the caravan you break off the fishing for that stretch. Groundbaiting is forbidden. Bait fishing with powerbait, Gulp and the like is not allowed; worms and maggots are fine. Nets are forbidden.

On the P&T lakes you may keep three salmonids a day, except in Vialampitjärn where the bag is two. Boats are forbidden on the P&T tarns. A boat is named only on Stor Laxsjön and Stor-Skälsjön, which are not P&T.

A float tube is allowed Monday to Thursday on the P&T lakes except Skälsjötjärn. There a float tube is not allowed.

Youngsters up to fifteen fish together with a guardian. Family permits are not sold. The order number after payment is the permit.

Price and season permits sit with Lögdö.

Season and roads

P&T opens 15 February at 08.00 and closes 1 November. Opening day may still be ice. After snowfall other roads are ploughed before Lögdö’s. The road to Ropnästjärn is not ploughed at all in winter; you get there by snowmobile or skis.

Practical

The tarns sit spread out, not around a camp. Drive toward Ljustorp or Liden and take Lögdö’s map. Park so rescue can get through. Take your rubbish with you.

Lodging on site is not a cabin village. A caravan is mentioned in the rules as something you may bring, not as a hired pitch.

Good to keep in mind

• Buy the right permit: P&T or other lakes. The P&T permit is not enough on Stor-Skälsjön.
• On P&T you pick the lake at checkout. The permit is valid for that lake and that date.
• One rod. Do not groundbait. No powerbait. No boat on the tarns.
• Three fish, two at Vialampitjärn. Under 25 centimetres go back.
• Float tube only Monday to Thursday, with the float-tube permit, not on Skälsjötjärn.
