Rågravträsket is Kalix Jakt & Fisketurism’s put-and-take lake between Kamlunge and Morjärv in Kalix municipality. The operator stocks brown trout, Arctic char and grayling. Perch occurs naturally. Permits are bought digitally. On maps the lake can also be spelled Rågrauträsket; it is the same water.

Species

The main species for whoever buys a permit is planted brown trout. Arctic char is also stocked. Grayling is mentioned in smaller numbers. Perch belongs to the natural stock and is not the reason for the put-and-take permit.

Brown trout in a small forest lake often sit along drop-offs, points and in lee. Arctic char can go deeper, especially when the surface water warms. Grayling sometimes take more as in a stream: shorter presentation, more precision. Change depth when a method stops giving fish, not only colour.

Fly fishing, spin fishing and bait fishing

The operator states fly fishing, spin fishing, bait fishing, ice jigging and ice bait fishing. Bait fishing is in the filter; ice jigging is winter fishing and has no own page here. Trolling is mentioned by Visit Kalix — read the seller’s terms before you tow lures behind a boat.

Boats are for hire according to the operator. The seller allows an electric motor, not any petrol motor. Wind shelters and fire sites sit around the lake. Parking is mentioned on the seller’s map, including a place suitable for a caravan.

Lures and flies

For stillwater brown trout, small and medium spinners and spoons in silver, copper or orange often suffice. Arctic char like what comes down: a heavier spoon or a streamer on sinking line. On fly: a nymph along the bank, a streamer over depth. The tips are general for the species.

Grayling can need lighter tippet and smaller flies than the coarser brown trout. Bring both if you do not know what was last stocked.

When they bite

Visit Kalix describes summer fishing roughly from mid-May to October and winter fishing from November to April. That is tourist information, not a guarantee. Morning and evening are often best in open water. On ice, bearing and the operator’s terms decide. Premieres and quotas you read with the seller.

Getting there

The lake sits midway between Kamlunge and Morjärv, according to Visit Kalix about 25 minutes by car from Kalix. The map pin is the named lake (Rågrauträsket). Follow forest road and signs the last stretch; park where the seller directs.

The permit is bought digitally. Boat hire and other service are run by Kalix Jakt & Fisketurism — contact them for hire, not via this page.

Rules

Always check the current rules with the permit seller. The permit is personal. Quota, family permit and what applies at premiere belong to the seller and they change. Children and young people up to and including eighteen fish according to the seller free in company with an adult who has a valid permit, on the adult’s terms; young people on their own have a separate rate.

The lake is marked as family-friendly with that age rule, a family permit, wind shelters and fire sites. It is still a lake on a rocky knoll — keep watch, especially on ice and in a boat.
