Rojkatjärn

Rojkatjärn is put and take in Strömsund municipality, at Rörström toward Bellvik. Bellvik-Rörströms FVOF stocks brown trout and Arctic char in spring and autumn. Its own day permit, not the lake system’s natural-water permit. The association has made the site accessible with jetties and a toilet. We do not sell the permits — buy via the permit seller.

Species

Brown trout and Arctic char are the main species. Rainbow trout is not mentioned as a species on the overview page. This page is Rojkatjärn, not Bellvikssjön or Rörströmssjön.

With brown trout and Arctic char you fish two salmonids that like cold, clear Norrland water. Arctic char often sits deeper and cooler than brown trout, especially in heat, and both reward a discreet presentation. The association’s accessible jetties and toilet make it comfortable family fishing; see more family-friendly waters. Remember that the tarn closes a couple of weeks after each stocking.

Small spinners, spoons and nymphs are a common start for stocked brown trout and Arctic char. The tips are general and therefore not specific to Rojkatjärn.

When they bite

Stocking in spring and autumn according to the association. Morning and evening are often nicer. Check the closure after stocking before you go.

This far north the season is shorter and the water cooler, so early summer, autumn and cool days often give most. Because stocking is spring and autumn, fishing can be best just when the tarn has opened again after the closure.

Getting there

The map pin sits at the named Rojkatjärnen, at Rörström. Exit from road 45 toward Bellvik. Park where it is marked. The area runs into Dorotea, but the tarn sits in Strömsund municipality.
