How put and take works in Malung-Sälen

In Malung-Sälen two fishing associations account for nearly all the waters. Transtrands FVOF stocks brown trout, arctic char and rainbow trout in forest ponds around Sälen and Horrmunden, and one area permit covers its stocked waters. Lima FVOF sells separate put-and-take day permits for Gråhedsdammen near Kläppen and for Mobergstjärn and Skärtjärn at Rörbäcksnäs, and has three special waters with their own stocking of char and trout.

This is char and brown trout country – rainbow trout is found in only a handful of the waters. Gråhedsdammen, Mobergstjärn and Skärtjärn have accessible jetties or fishing spots. Stötens Put & Take at Stöten Camping is a rainbow trout pond with its own permit, bought on site.
