Högsjö SFF

Högsjö sportfiskeförening manages about thirty lakes around Ramvik in Härnösand municipality, Ångermanland. The area sits between Härnösand and Kramfors, three kilometres north of the Höga Kusten bridge. Pike and perch belong in the larger inland lakes. Put and take sits in four named waters where the club stocks rainbow trout, brown trout and Arctic char.

One permit covers the area, not a single tarn. This is not Dellenbygdens FVO, where you pick the lake at the till. Here you can move between Abborrtjärnen, Djupsjön, Stor-Hällsjön and Östbytjärnen on the same slip, while the permit is valid.

Put and take and the other waters

Two kinds of fishing, one area permit.

  • Put and take – Abborrtjärnen, Djupsjön, Stor-Hällsjön and Östbytjärnen. Regular stocking. On the map Östbytjärnen is the Arctic char tarn, the other three put and take.
  • Other waters – pike, perch and wild brown trout. Uttersjön, Frättentjärnen, Smaltjärnen and Hosjön are named for brown trout that hold themselves. They have no water pages here.

At Mörtsjön sits Snibben, camping with cabins. It is not a P&T lake.

The permit and the tackle

The permit is personal. Show it. The day permit is counted in twenty-four hours from purchase. The summer season card runs from the first of April to the last of October. The winter season card runs from the first of October to the last of April. A year card runs three hundred and sixty-five days. Family and youth cards are sold too. Price and exact validity sit with the seller.

Children through fourteen fish without their own permit, with an adult who holds a valid permit, and on that adult’s bag.

Fly fishing, spin fishing and bait fishing belong on the four stocked waters when the permit allows it. Ice jigging when the ice holds. Boat motors are not allowed. Bag, size limit and temporary closures belong to the club and they change. A lake can rest between stockings. Read the seller’s notice before you pack for Djupsjön in particular.

Practical

Drive toward Ramvik and Högsjö, north of the bridge. Abborrtjärnen and Djupsjön sit close together in the southern part. Stor-Hällsjön farther north-west. Östbytjärnen east toward Ramvik. Take the club map. Where it is wet there is boardwalk. Park where it is signed. Take your rubbish with you. Fire only where it is allowed.

Another put-and-take area in the same county, with a permit per lake instead of an area permit, is Lögdö Wild in Medelpad.

Good to keep in mind

  • One area permit, not a permit per tarn.
  • Abborrtjärnen: rainbow trout first. Not Lögdö’s Abborrtjärn in Ljustorp.
  • Djupsjön: rainbow trout and Arctic char. Can close around stocking.
  • Stor-Hällsjön: brown trout.
  • Östbytjärnen: Arctic char, sometimes brown trout.
  • Children through fourteen on an adult’s bag. No boat motor.

All P&T waters

Each name goes to the page map and permit link. The overview sits under put and take.

Arctic char tarn: Östbytjärnen.

FAQ

Is one permit enough in all four put-and-take lakes?

Yes. Högsjö sells an area permit, not a permit per tarn. The day permit is counted in twenty-four hours. Season cards exist for open water and for winter. Check what is open with the seller.

Which tarn is Arctic char?

Östbytjärnen. Djupsjön also takes Arctic char. Abborrtjärnen is rainbow trout first. Stor-Hällsjön is brown trout. Brown trout is stocked when it is available; otherwise Abborrtjärnen takes rainbow trout.

Do children fish free?

Children through fourteen fish without their own permit, with an adult who holds a valid permit, and on that adult’s bag. Check the seller.

Where do I buy the fishing permit?

Digitally at iFiske, or from the club’s retailers. Bring the permit. Boat motors are not allowed. Price sits with the seller.
